Would you love to finish your novel?

I know what it's like to love your story but feel completely lost inside it.

To have characters you care about, scenes you’re proud of, and a world you can almost breathe in. Yet no matter how hard you try, the story in your head refuses to make sense on the page.

You’ve spent hours writing, rewriting, second-guessing, and Googling “how to fix my novel” at 2am.

You’ve got notebooks, voice memos, colour-coded files… and somehow it still feels like none of it is enough to pull the story together.

And maybe you’re starting to worry that:

you’re not “skilled enough” to finish
your draft is too tangled to fix
your idea is good, but you might not be
everyone else seems to know what they’re doing except you
if you don’t figure it out soon, you’ll lose the spark that made you start this book in the first place

You’re not behind.
Your story isn’t broken.
And you’re not failing.

You’ve arrived at the next stage of the novel writing process, once the wild ride of exploring your initial ideas has slowed down. Your story has grown bigger, wilder, and more alive than the simple outline you began with, and now you’re standing in a forest of your own making, unsure where to head next.

My name’s Esther. I’m a certified book coach and developmental editor specialising in fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction. I help writers who’ve stepped into the wilderness of their own story untangle what’s there and find a way forward that finally makes sense.

Working with Esther felt like having a creative partner who truly gets the struggles of being a writer (probably because she is one!). She broke down the overwhelming parts of revising into manageable steps and never made me feel judged for where I was in the process. Her feedback wasn’t just helpful—it was empowering, making me feel seen and understood as a writer. If you’re stuck or just need someone who ‘gets it,’ Esther is exactly who you want in your corner.

Does this sound like you?

You’ve been trying to finish your novel for years. You keep adding complexity to your world and story – another character, a new sub-plot. You’ve gone from a standalone novel to a duology; a trilogy to a series. Your story notes are growing into a novel in their own right, but the beautiful story you first envisioned has fizzled out.

You’re so buried under all the work you’ve done that you can’t figure out a way to get the book finished.

My book coaching packages are designed for writers just like you— passionate about their stories but overwhelmed by the process of completing a first draft and revising it into a polished book. Together we’ll untangle the threads that have you stuck, break your project into manageable steps, and re-energize your creative flow, so that you can get back to the joy of writing.

“Don’t listen to people who tell you that very few people get published and you won’t be one of them…Keep writing, keep faith in the idea that you have unique stories to tell, and tell them.”

Services For Authors

“So here is why I write what I do: We all have futures. We all have pasts. We all have stories. And we all, every single one of us, no matter who we are and no matter what’s been taken from us or what poison we’ve internalized or how hard we’ve had to work to expel it—we all get to dream.”

About Me

Hey there, my name’s Esther and I’m based in the south east of England.

I’m a certified book coach and developmental editor specialising in fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction. I’ve loved stories since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and I’ve spent years studying the craft of writing and editing, and learning how to help writers shape their ideas into stories that captivate readers.

Getting stuck in a novel is normal. Characters lose direction, plot threads tangle, and the excitement you felt at the start can feel buried.

Through structured guidance, practical tools, and personalised feedback, I will work with you to:

Discover the story that’s already hidden in your draft

Build confidence in your writing decisions

Strengthen plot, pacing, and character arcs

Rekindle your pleasure and joy in your story if it has begun to dip

Create a clear plan to finish your draft or navigate revisions.

Outside of coaching and writing, I spend time in the hills working with young people, teaching them practical skills, problem-solving, and resourcefulness while exploring the outdoors.

I’m an Author Accelerator certified book coach, hold a Batchelor of Arts in the Arts and Humanities with a specialisation in Creative Writing, and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP UK). I am also a certified Mindset and Confidence Mentor.

As an Author Accelerator certified book coach, I’m qualified to coach writers using Author Accelerator’s strategy, methods, and materials, but I operate independently of Author Accelerator and am not affiliated with them.
